 71 Mandalay is located on Magnetic Island [Yunbenun (pronounced Yuhn-beh-nin)] began 275 million years ago when molten granite was pushed to the earth’s surface with volcanic force. Over time the overlying volcanic rocks weathered away. On our property can see multitures of evidence of these rocks.

 

It's the name ,Yunbenun was given to Magnetic island by the Traditional Custodians of the island and its surrounding sea country. It has deep cultural and spiritual significance to the Wulgurukaba people, known as the "canoe people."

Magnetic Island has a very distinctive environment and picturesque landscape featuring large granite boulders, hoop pines, sandy beaches and fringing coral reefs.
